EML

Educational Modelling Language is a book and learning system for making learning visible, traceable, and revisable across time.

The project studies how handwriting anchors thought, AI projection externalises structure, and human re-reading contests the transformed output. The purpose is to train the human, not the machine.

The Read-Write Model

The Read-Write Model is the EML mechanism through which thought becomes visible, revisable, and trainable over time.

  1. Inscription: handwriting or another embodied mark anchors thought.
  2. Projection: AI or another tool returns structure, pattern, and possible form.
  3. Re-entry: the human reads the projection back into the body of thought.
  4. Revision: the human accepts, rejects, sharpens, or redirects the projection.
  5. Drift control: repeated return reveals whether the work is deepening or flattening.

The Book: Four Parts

The manuscript is designed as a model in book form.

01

Orientation

Lived experience, inheritance, self-location, ethical drift, and formative action.

02

Grammar

Symbols, casting, crucible, knowledge space, read-write cycles, and drift vectors.

03

Circuits in Practice

Classroom scenes, AI interactions, workflows, MVPs, tool use, and artefacts.

04

Futures

Agentic learning systems, technics, delegated agency, and human-AI ecology.

The Three EML Layers

Each educational encounter can be read through structure, time, and agency.

Structural

Nodes, links, flows, constraints, forms, visual grammar, and knowledge-space topology.

Cognitive-Temporal

Repetition, delay, casting, drift, memorisation, and learning over time.

Agentic

Learners, educators, AI, notebooks, diagrams, prompts, tools, and delegated agency.

Current Concept Cluster

The current development thread treats a concept as a path rather than a fixed object. A note draws movement from latent space into a field of study, where it can be returned to, tested, and developed.
